Age of Wonders 4 Releases The Silver Seas Expansion Featuring Naval Gameplay

Triumph Studios has launched The Silver Seas, an ocean-themed expansion for Age of Wonders 4. The add-on centers around community requests for maritime play, bringing swashbuckling elements and aquatic systems to the turn-based 4X strategy game.

At the core of the new content is the Mercantile Culture, which lets factions establish settlements directly on water surfaces and upgrade them into floating defensive bastions. Players can specialize through two distinct approaches to piracy: the stealthy, smuggling-oriented Cartel and the affluent Barony, which relies on wealth, imports, and bounty systems to target adversaries.

The expansion also broadens faction customization by introducing the Aqualon and Sharkkin as selectable forms. Additionally, players gain access to aquatic-focused Tomes of Magic featuring water and ice spells, alongside specialized pirate dwellings, maritime quest narratives, dangerous oceanic monsters, and a custom sea shanty.
